Adventure Game's Natural Flaw

No matter how strong an adventure title is with regard to the main elements of video games. ie. Graphics, gameplay, etc. The lifespan of the game will invariably be fairly weak. The nature of the genre is the problem here. After playing through the game, solving all the puzzles, and unravelling the story line, there is no real reason to repeat the experience. With action adventure, this is not the case, as combat sequences can be enjoyed many times over.
However, traditional adventure games' sedate pace can become tedious on re-runs.
In a slightly bizarre way, I feel that they are their own worst enemy, as the genre itself is very opposing of the fuse between adventure and action adventure.

Ridiculously easy adventure game programming software. I think this would be a great platform for us to base our game off. It makes games in the style of Grim Fandango i.e. 3D models over a prerendered background.
